Your Goals settings for 2009

(This post is also posted in http://www.transformationplus.blogspot.com/)

Hi Friends & Well wishers!!!

I am sure many of you will be very busy doing family & friend’s catch-up, making new resolutions for the New Year and so on and so forth.

Well one of the very important aspect … is to do goal settings and implement it into action. I would like to share with you some beautiful tips which I have learnt from my coaches and mentors and implemented in my day-to-day life. Use Google if you want to know more.

Goal settings are one of the most important criteria of life. Here are some titbits what you should do with your goal. What you should do with your Goals? Clearly define your goals and have clarity of purpose i.e. the "Why". Use of the SMART model provides a valuable framework to define goals.

I ask these questions of myself to evaluate the goals that i set.

1) Does it feel good?
2) Is it good for me?
3) Is it good for others?
4) Is it good for the higher good?
Have fun manifesting your goals and don't forget to celebrate!
What is SMART Model?
The S.M.A.R.T. Model, can be used to help you become aware of if you have all the steps or objectives in place to meet your outcomes or goals. The acronym stands for:-
S Specific
M Measurable

A Achievable, Attainable

R Realistic

T Timely, Time-bound

SPECIFIC What you wish to achieve, should be concrete, you should define and detail the outcome or goal, to know what you want.
Consider the followItalicing questions to being specific:-
WHO is going to do this, and will be responsible?
WHAT is to be achieved?
WHY are you doing this?
WHEN do you want to do this and to be completed?
HOW are you going to do this?
MEASURABLE Can you see or measure the progress you are achieving and when you have completed the task? If you plan to read three books in a week to research a subject, how will you know as each day passes that you have read so many pages, chapters, or a book? How will you know you have read the three books at the end of the week?
ACHIEVABLE Another word could be attainable, is the goal or outcome within your reach?Have you got the right resources available to you, have you enough knowledge? Is the time-frame correct, have you given yourself enough time, or is the time too long that you loose motivation and have no commitment?

REALISTIC Can the outcome be achieved? Is it physically possible to do this? Have you all the resources available to you, finance, and materials, do they exist? At this time it is not realistic to build a house on the Moon.

TIMELY Another word can be time-bound. Have you set a timetable or deadline to achieve the outcome or goal?Is the time the correct time to do the task? Skiing in the Scottish mountains in the summer months is not feasible as there will be no snow.Do you wish to loose 20kgs in weight? To do it in one week is not timely, you have not allowed enough time.Time must be measurable, attainable and realistic.

Be S.M.A.R.T. use the SMART Model on all you do, and be aware of it when working with others, setting tasks for you, your employees, your students, your clients and I know that you will implement these tips …. yes that’s right!!! and …. write down your goals and implement them. Have a fantastic year ahead, High 5, Cheers …. Prabir

The purpose, the Transformation ... the journey

Hi Friends,

On this onset of New Year lot of things are rapidly happening in my life. I am always asked:

  • When did your Transformation happen?
  • How did you go in the path of Transformation?
  • How did you get the purpose of your life?
  • What is the purpose of your life?

Well … barring few nobody actually asked me “WHY” I chose to go in this path. To tell you about the purpose of my life ... i have to tell you a story first. Hmmm … just thinking how to summarize a story which is 7-8 years long. Well let's begin....

Some of you know that I am always passionate, ambitious and have high aspirations. Long back I accidentally came across a book, well what happened was ... I had an opportunity to meet a top shot for whom I still have a great respect even today.

I got an opportunity to recive a token of appreciation from him and at a precise moment when I was with him he had a bad cough. He opened his briefcase to take his medication out. I saw "the book" half hidden by his spec case, but could see enough to figure a probable name. To cut the long story short I got the book after gut wrenching difficulty. The name of the book was "The Magic of Thinking Big" by Dr. David J Schwartz. I read it & IMPLEMENTED the learnings in my life … since that day … yes!!! … I have never looked back in my life ever since. I have read this book more than 17 times now.

After I came to Australia I realised that I need to enhance my financial IQ. I initially thought of doing an MBA but then convinced myself that if I have to become the best than I have to learn the skills from a business man who is also a teacher. I was introduced to Robert Kiyosaki. Since last 5 plus years I read all his books, played & own his 101 & 202 games, opened an investment club in Melbourne which is thankfully endorsed by the Richdad organisation. I have IMPLEMENTED most of his teachings and TOOK ACTIONS to plan my financial FREEDOM.

Then sometime back I was introduced to the world of "NLP" and got addicted to it. I fell in love with leaders like Anthony Robbins, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Joe Vitaly and the fantastic Chris Howard. I have used NLP techniques and got my soul on after burners. I got my purpose that I have to bring best out in people … in the entire humanity. I pursued this objective with single mindfulness, unbridled ferociousness and got humongous response. It's one of the most mind blowing, exciting, vibrant experiences one can ever have. I have started training with Chris Howard who is the best in the industry to master the techniques and we are in process of creating a “history” ... yes!!! we will for sure.

I am now surrounded with big business owners who have considered me as a part of their team after lot of persuasion and challenges, made new friends who are like minded and are forward thinkers and above all a supportive family who is constantly motivating me to move ahead in life and have brought me back some of the valuable time . Now my network has grown worldwide. I have now dared to dream big with only one intention in my life ... that is to enrich other people’s life and to inspire humanity. Friends!!! Money is not important it's just a consequence … that’s right … it's very true ... for me as well.

I was feeling bit emotional while writing this long post but hope you can understand that this journey was very exciting. Above all my life has become a passion and is driven by this passion.

My 3 favourite quotes are:

  • Laziness is the greatest assassin of success
  • If you want to predict your future just create one
  • Vision with venture is a key to success. It's no point staring at the steps but you should climb the steps too.

U have a FANTASTIC DAY ... LIFE ROCKS!!!
